How To Build Self Confidence

Are you struggling in network marketing, and you wonder how to build self confidence so you can go out and start talking to people?

You’ve done all the training that your company recommends, but you still hesitate to get out there.

You know deep down, the people won’t bite! But you just don’t want to have to defend or justify what you are doing.

The network marketing business has it’s share of doubters both in and out of the industry, and that stigma, or falsehood just makes trying to be a success, much more difficult.

To know how to build self confidence, let me ask you this?

Are you an original?

What is your motivation or purpose when you talk to people?

Are you thinking… if I can only sign this person up, my business will start to take off, and I’ll be rich!!! WRONG! 🙁

Anytime you approach someone with an imaginary dollar bill pasted across their forehead, you are doomed to fail. You will be out of this industry in no time flat.

You can learn how to build self confidence.

Of course you could take classes at the local college on becoming more assertive, and improving self esteem which leads to how to build self confidence.

I actually took one of these classes years ago. They showed the students how to recognize mental triggers that cause us to back down in certain situations. They taught us how not to be a doormat and to stop letting people take advantage of us. It was actually one of the best classes I ever took, because I was that proverbial doormat.

But, you may not be interested in finding an assertiveness class to attend.

You already know how to build self confidence so you can build your business!

Back to the original question… are you an original?

What do I mean by that…

I am talking about being authentic. Be authentic by doing everything from the heart. What you say, what you do, what you write about, whatever you are involved in, it has to come from the heart.

When you are authentic, people will trust you. They will believe in you, and they will follow you.

Be authentic or original, not only in face-to-face interactions, but also on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and don’t forget Pinterest (although I don’t know much about that one).

All I know is, that when you are original, authentic, and speak from the heart, people will open up to you and become your friend. Don’t try to pitch everything you have, the minute you say hi unless you want to alienate everyone and their brothers. They will warn their brothers you know!

When people are your friends, they will buy from you when THEY have made the decision to buy. People buy people, not stuff! And people buy when they decide, not when someone decides for them. But, because you approach them as an original, and you are authentic in what you say and do, your part of the equation becomes easy, and your confidence will soar.

Once you begin looking at your business in this manner, you will have –

learned how to build your self confidence, and then… the world is your oyster!

Always thinking of you and your success!

    Hey Val ,
    Love it, love it 🙂
People buy people, not stuff! Amen.
The first step in building a strong self confidence is to accept everything as it comes and embrace your journey: with all the fears and doubts.

This will open you will want to share what you learn, your ups and the end, this is all that people what to see..not a perfect entrepreneur, but a guy/gal who dove into the business sea and came back alive to share the experience 🙂 Spending your time to create genuine connections with people is the real asset for a home based business.

Being authentic is hard, but well worth it. I’ve struggled with being authentic my whole life… and have finally got it. My ticket to authentic was learning to still the mind thru meditation. But it doesn’t really matter what path you take. Do whatever it takes to become authentic. It’ll pay you back in more ways than you can count. You offer an excellent reminder of this, Val. Thanks!

    Hi Val,
I agree with and I believe in what you’re saying. You’re obviously speaking from the heart, being authentic and it resonates with me.
It’s true, we tend to look at potential clients as dollar signs and this may be influencing how we interact with that person than if we are being natural and authentic.
This is the line I love most: “What you say, what you do, what you write about, whatever you are involved in, it has to come from the heart.” Very powerful words.
I think this method of building confidence is the simplest, least expensive and most powerful method that I’ve come across.
    Thank you for your insight.

I love your analogy about seeing the dollar bill across a person’s forehead. Lol. I believe I’ve had that kind of ‘vision’ before. In truth, like you said, it’s so much better to be authentic. People like real. It’s more fun to be real. People buy from real.

    Thanks for the insightful post!

P.S. Pinterest is a great way for network marketers to show their authentic side. I highly recommend it. =)
